Massage and Bodywork Theory

Students will learn the theory and history, physiologic and emotional effects of massage and bodywork. Classes consist of demonstration of basic massage techniques, demonstration and discussion of good body mechanics. Charting and intake will be discussed. Clinic preparation, hygiene, sanitation and safety are covered. Students will also develop and understanding of soft tissue injuries.

Students are required to purchase the following book: Tappan's Handbook of Healing Massage, 5th Edition.
